Porcelain :: Seattle

Been working with stoneware since returning to pottery, and the results have been nice, but wondered if there was a way of taking porcelain through the pit fire process. So we made a batch of porcelain candy bowls to run through and see if it could take the stress of pit firing. We used four different types of porcelain of varying cone ratings and bodies, even trying the porcelain that we used to make celadon ware over thirty years ago.

The batch is going through the bisque firing now and will hit the pit next week.
